Derek has an extensive background in helping financial services executives achieve their mission-critical priorities. His industry career started at the Advisory Board Company, where he delivered research to banking and insurance clients through workshops and presentations. Then, at CEB, he provided research-based insights and guidance to commercial and retail banking leaders in one-to-one, small group, and large conference settings across a global client base.

From 2018 to 2022, he led Gartner's Executive Circles for leaders of retail banking operations and small business banking at the leading banks in North America, sharing research insights and facilitating peer discussions about technology and business challenges. He currently supports a diverse, global group of executives, including bank CIOs, business unit executives and technology and service providers.
