Mike Leibovitz is a Senior Director Analyst in Gartner’s Business Technology & Innovation (BTI) group, covering the enterprise wired and wireless LAN market. His work focuses on campus and branch networking, including indoor connectivity with Wi‑Fi, private cellular (4G/5G), IoT networking, and neutral‑host systems, as well as emerging technologies to modernize network operations such as Agentic Network Operations (Agentic NetOps), focused on how autonomous, intent‑driven, and context‑aware capabilities are influencing how networks are designed and operated. His coverage also spans enterprise data center networking and extends across campus, WAN, cloud networking, and SASE, including secure access architectures for Zero Trust and network access control. Through Gartner research and client inquiries, Mike guides Heads of Infrastructure & Operations, CIOs, and networking leaders in modernizing connectivity, reducing operational risk, and planning for scalable, secure, and cloud‑centric network architectures.
Prior to joining Gartner, Leibovitz held senior leadership roles across both service provider and networking vendor environments. He worked at Canada’s largest carriers, including Bell Canada and TELUS, in pre‑sales engineering and customer‑facing solution design roles supporting large and complex enterprise networks. He later spent more than a decade at Extreme Networks, where he led the wired and wireless product portfolio and built portfolio management, product management, and CTO‑level innovation functions. His responsibilities included product strategy, product marketing and major launches, and supporting mergers and acquisitions through technical and product diligence as well as post‑acquisition integration.
